We are asking Black and Brown formerly incarcerated TGNC survivors to form and be part of our TGNC Criminalized Survivors Support Fund Committee. This committee will be responsible for developing this inaugural grant program for Black Trans Nation LLC and distributing $125,000 towards individuals/sex workers and supporting criminalized TGNC survivors of any crime and sexual violence, wish to start mid 2021.

The black and brown The TGNC former incarcerated Sexual Violence Survivors Support Fund will fund individual support for survivors who have been criminalized, including but not limited to:
The full scope of this fund has not yet been determined. BTN will help form a grant committee made up of formerly black and brown TGNC incarcerated survivors, and this grant committee will determine the direction and oversee the execution of this fund. For 2021, we are allocating $100,000 to the black and brown TGNC Criminalized Survivors Support Fund. Upon discussion with the grant committee, the BTN Global steering committee will determine annual allocations for this fund near the end of each year.
What is the Black and Brown TGNC Criminalized Survivors Support Fund Committee? How can I join?
The grant committee, comprising formerly black and brown TGNC incarcerated sex violence survivors, will develop the TGNC Criminalized Survivors Support Fund in full, review applications for funding, and make final decisions on how to distribute $95,000 in Black and Brown TGNC criminalized survivors support in 2021. Grant committee members will meet in May 2021 to determine eligibility, application process, and overall administration of the Fund, with support from the BTN administrative assistant. This grant committee is separate from the BTN GLOBAL steering committee and will make final decisions regarding the Black and Brown TGNC Criminalized Survivors Support Fund. BTN GLOBAL will provide the grant committee support through the administrative assistant and assist in troubleshooting as needed. Serving 1 year term on the committee will come with a one-time honorarium of about $12,000 (final amount determined by size of committee).
An amount of $55,000 will be available to cater for the committee needs and logistics.
You must be a formerly black or brown TGNC incarcerated survivor to serve on this committee. Serving on the committee will disqualify you from receiving funds from “The TGNC formerly incarcerated Sexual Violence Survivors Support Fund” However, you will still be eligible to apply for the same funding through the TGNC Sexworker Survivors Fund

TGNC Criminalized Survivors Support Fund
BLACK & BROWN TGNC Survivors Fund
Grants of up to $10,000* for seed projects AND skills/leadership development aimed at ending the criminalization of TGNC violence survivors.
*If it is appropriate to grow or continue the project beyond the original parameters of the project’s proposal and the $5000 grant limit, the BTN steering committee will consider additional funding for those projects on a case-by-case basis.
What does the BLACK & BROWN TGNC Violence Survivors Fund support?
The TGNC Violence Survivors Fund will fund both 1) projects and 2) individual skills or leadership development:
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed annually during BTN Steering Committee meetings. For 2022, BTN Global will grant $100,000 through the Black & Brown TGNC Violence Survivors Fund , in awards of up to $10,000 each.
Once applicants submit their proposals, they will receive a confirmation of submission receipt within one week. It will take approximately four to six weeks to hear whether their proposal has been accepted by the granting committee, depending on when committee meetings are scheduled for each month.
